A poetic portrait of Yemanjà, goddess of the sea in Afro-Brazilian religion. Through images of celebrations in honor of the goddess, accounts of devotees, spiritual leaders and fishermen (of whom Yemanjà is the patroness) the film presents the cult and the Afro-Brazilian Candomblé in its spiritual depth and its aesthetic richness.
